I was inspired by Jen’s confidence and depth of knowledge and experience in issues of bioethics and birth and was thrilled to be able to participate in a mastermind course with her for 3 months! Jen was an incredible source of support and information and I benefited so much from the practical advice that was a part of the group work and Jen’s mentoring skills, a lot of which I now apply in my own work and research. The world needs more people like Jen who combine both the true heart and the brilliant mind and work to help others!

Working with Jen was amazing. During the duration of the course Jen was able to facilitate conversations that fostered growth, unity, and community. It was during this time I decided that I not only wanted to do doula work I wanted to make sure community service was a part of my mission. Jen did a great job at listening and giving feedback. She was also able to bring in some great presenters for the masterclasses. Jen has been nothing but supporting from the moment I entered her course. I am happy to have had the privilege to “rub elbows” with such a force.
bioethicist and #birthethics geek!
I live and work as a clinical ethicist in my native Southern California where you can find me drinking matcha lattes and hanging out on the beach with my husband and 3 kids. I’ve spent over 15 years using my ethics expertise in clinical, academic and corporate settings to help people get the knowledge and tools they need to feel confident, speak up, and create change! By day I guide patients, healthcare providers and executives through difficult ethics dilemmas and personal formation work. By night I research, write and think way too much about individuals being disrespected in the birth experience and systemic trauma impacting patients and providers in health care.
When people experience empowered, ethical and respectful births, it can be transformative for mothers, families, and entire communities.
If we want to change a system, we have to start with working on ourselves.
Magical things happen when we work in and through community.
Birth work is justice work.
Your visionary birth work is life changing - for birthing people, their families and entire communities. At the end of this mastermind experience you will have the tools and knowledge to make your work more visible and connected to others with the same justice-focused values.
I want you to be able to walk into a room (or online space) feeling grounded, confident, secure in your voice and ready to create meaningful change as 100% authentically you.

I found accountability and support in being part of the mastermind with Jennifer. It became a call I looked forward to each week and wanted it to last hours - it was that good! I was inspired by others and value my experience during those weeks.
Being a part of the mastermind with many wise and incredible birth justice activists made me feel stronger and ready to do my part in the community. It was about being part of a group that works on themselves to become aware of our strengths and our pains and about having the opportunity to be vulnerable in a safe space, allowing me to build strength in my voice.
