I partner with clinicians, birth workers, educators, and health care leaders who are working to create safer, more ethical care environments. Through consulting and speaking, I support individuals and organizations navigating the ethical realities of birth work — with clarity, care, and courage.
I support people working in maternal health who are committed to ethical practice and meaningful change, even when the systems around them make that work difficult.
Whether you are a clinician, birth worker, educator, or policy leader, you are already carrying responsibility that extends far beyond your job description. If you are feeling the strain of broken systems, worn down by invisible labor, or unsure how to stay grounded in your values while navigating complex realities, you are not alone.
This work asks a great deal of those who do it. Ethics offers a way to respond with care, accountability, and integrity in the midst of that complexity.
Maternal health care presents ethical questions that do not have simple answers. These questions often arise in moments shaped by urgency, hierarchy, and long-standing systems that were not built with equity or consent at the center.
My consulting work supports individuals, teams, and organizations who are grappling with ethical concerns in birth and maternal care. This includes clinicians and birth workers at the bedside, educators shaping future practice, leaders responsible for policy and culture, and ethicists navigating institutional decision-making.

And was thrilled to be able to participate in a mastermind course with her for 3 months! Jen was an incredible source of support and information and I benefited so much from the practical advice that was a part of the group work and Jen’s mentoring skills, a lot of which I now apply in my own work and research. The world needs more people like Jen who combine both the true heart and the brilliant mind and work to help others!
During the duration of the course Jen was able to facilitate conversations that fostered growth, unity, and community. It was during this time I decided that I not only wanted to do doula work I wanted to make sure community service was a part of my mission. Jen did a great job at listening and giving feedback. She was also able to bring in some great presenters for the masterclasses. Jen has been nothing but supporting from the moment I entered her course. I am happy to have had the privilege to “rub elbows” with such a force.

I speak to organizations and audiences who want to engage seriously with ethics in maternal health care. My talks are designed for people working inside complex systems who need language, context, and frameworks that reflect the realities of their work.
These sessions invite audiences to think critically about power, consent, accountability, and harm in birth care. They also create space for reflection, shared understanding, and honest conversation across roles and disciplines.
I speak to clinicians, birth workers, educators, ethicists, policy makers, and health care leaders in settings that include hospitals, academic programs, conferences, and community-based organizations.
